ABSTRACT

An efficient protocol for callus proliferation and stimulation of secondary metabolites in Aquilaria agallocha Roxb. has been standardized using leaf explants. Experiment was performed to examine the effect of growth regulators on callus induction, proliferation and stimulation of secondary metabolite s in a shorter time period. Callus proliferation (100%) within 95 days was observed on MS medium supplemented with BAP (1.2mg/l) and NAA (0.05mg/l). Secondary metabolite stimulation (70%) was achieved on MS medium supplemented with 2, 4-D (2.0 mg/l).
